I-BAR is definitely different and changed peoples idea of going to a bar for a drink!
i-BAR strikes you from the moment you walk in. The large well-lit bar counter with two excellent Bar tenders - Derek and Anshu. The biggest plus point of the i-Bar is the selection and range of alcohol available - definitely at a price though! Next is the low-seating supplemented by the bean-bags on the side but definitely not meant for those on the larger side of life. This side of the bar is supplemented by a bank of small TV screens showing various channels. The other end of the bar is where the DJ console and dance floor are situated. The ambience is definitely of the highest calibre but we did not expect anything less from Priya Paul!!! ALl this is complemented by an excellent range of bites.
Another striking and innovative concept is the poolside cabanas where you can stay away from the cigarette smoking crowd and the music and instead indulge yourself by the side of the pool breathing enjoying the so-called Bangalore cool nights!!! Again the Park has risen to the occasion by providing a poolside bar which is in a position to provide you with your run of the mill drinks while the cocktails and expensive stuff has to come from the internal bar.
One thing noticeable has been the whos who of Bangalore dropping in frequently and this is definitely evident on the event nights - which have been in a class of their own and unique too. Probably the best promotion seen by me in Bangalore was the 9 week promotion by Chivas Regal! Every Wednesday was different, fun and enjoyable and take it from me there was not an inch of space.
But is there no negative point??? YES! The music has to be improved! DJ Sasha is good but somehow the flow or continuity in his music seems to be missing and then he has the strange of habit of packing and leaving by 11.15 while 11.30 is the scheduled closing in Bangalore.
