I am using an i-mate Pocket PC since June last year.
Processor: Intel(R) PXA263
RAM : 128 MB
First of all this device make sense for folks using Windows OS and Outlook tools. The small component called active sync which can be downloaded free from Microsoft site https://microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/activesync38.mspx is all you need for the connectivity b/w this device and your computer.
Get this and the options that open up in front of you are plentiful.
Initially I was a lil petrified with the size of this device but soon got used to taking into account the luxury it offers you. Initially I had trouble with bugs in the firmware. system crashes etc etc. (expected feature of any ms product family) but a few firmware upgrades and patches later things started running smooth. even the battery life became acceptable with 2 days. (earlier was a less than a day)
(latest f/w and patches are available on https://clubimate.com)
this device charges when its connected to your comp via its usb cable so I have not used the charger for more than a couple of times since I bought this device. Anyway you would want to sync your contacts and calander with your comp.
there are tons of softwares available on the net for these powerful cute device which does ease your day to day life. one of the best which I have come accross is the Voice Command from Microsoft. For $20 your phone is a talkative companion. Please check on microsoft site for VC features and reviews. you can ask the phone to kick off any application, dial a number speaking to it etc etc. This is not Voice Tag but Voice recognition. There is no learning involved.
There are plenty other s/w like wallet, battery and journel bar - interesting weather updates when hooked on to your computer. I am looking forward to a launch of a GPS provider and go in for a tom-tom portable gps add-on and you have a Never-Lost for yourself.
