Will Smith has immersed himself entirely in this role as Detective Spooner, to begin with the cast has been talked about by Spikeguard and the storyline has been detailed by psmukund and aviendha........
So this is what I have to contribute. It has been long since I wrote anything here so just for the records .. its great to be back.....
One thing that strikes you with the opening is the city of future and you feel why do all futuristic cities look the same.. cant we have a different version/ vision of future which is actually futuristic.... but beyond that first doubt the engaging storyline takes you in and you do not think too much about anything else.
A the title suggests the future is dominated by robos and the protagonist of the movie WS hates robos and is constantly dreaming about his chance encounter with one in a life threatening situation.. which is later explained in the movie.
The story develops with Will Smith and his conspiracy theories about evolution of robos and the threats that they impose on humanity. Due to his difficult past and his encounters with robos , its hard for anyone in the department to believe that robos can be dangerous.
In between the scenes the creator of robos and the three laws that make the robos safe to humanity commits suicide and that sets off Will Smith on s search for reasons that forced the great scientist to commit suicide.
His quest for the reasons and the secrets leads him to a bigger conspiracy.. but that I will leave for you to find out.. In the end as it always happens the Hero saves the world and gets the girl in the bargain.....
Did I mention there is a girl too in the movie.. his romantic interest.... a doctor who works in the corporate that manufactures all these robos and where that great scientist of those times 2035 works.
Now when I am finished writing this review.. the reality has suddenly dawned that there was no great storyline.. this movie could have been any movie where all the problems threaten he existence of mankind as we know it.. and a hero fights against all odds to save the world and gets the girl in the end.... remember ’’Total Recall’’.... but once I was done with watching I really enjoyed the show......
So all in all.. no great story but the art of packaging combined with great story telling and will smith make it a good movie to watch.. we dont have very many choices anyways.....Kyon jaoge Na!!!!
