I was with IBM for more than 8 yrs and was recipient of Top Performer Award for last 3 yrs and my average sal growth is abt 4-5%, and when I came on bench after completing an assignment as an architect first of all I was harrassed and asked to meet some 10-15 people in different parts of the city as I asked for onsite project, finally I was forced into an internal project and made to work as a developer as I was on bench for too long ... all my requests for training rejected when on bench, and strangely this is the only co. where you have to apply for ur promotion all by your self, my promotion was rejected twice because the manager did not act on the application in time, now on top of it I have a lead even though he has less experience than me who joined recently, doesnt know technology or IBM .. has huge baggage from his previous employer... last day I just happen to see his sal slip accidentally projected on projector (idiot) ... he gets a complete 85% more than my salary inspite of all these.. I was shocked. New Joiners in IBM are complete lemons getting paid like mad and have poisoned the environment completely. IBM is now HELL.
After all these I decided to call it quits.. I got a direct 100% jump ( I had to wait til my retirement to ge that in IBM)... All my friends who are old timers have either left or in the process of quitting. So if you are looking for a that old IBM.. thats long gone.. you only have TCS (one ex TCS idiot heads the co now, I am told he’s such a useless guy he gives a damn for Human Beings and many feel he’s responsible for this down fall of IBM), infy or wipro or styam in there. No money spent on trainings .. even on campus hires.. they expect u to have experience with tier co... direct poaching.. heights.. for temp staff this is hell... they just keep laying them off.. and since they are not on rolls they dont even come in attrition nos.. completely manipulative...... I am ashamed that I once was an IBMer
