IBM doesn’t offer any more flexibility to new hires. The flexibility is yours to take if you have been in the system for long, otherwise, your People Manager can make you suffer for choosing the company. I joined IBM on the assurance that I would get a work from home option. However, after joining, the People Manager tells me that the only commitment I can take seriously is what I find in my offer letter. If you want to join IBM, ensure that all your pre-requisites for joining are specifically mentioned in the Offer Letter. They won’t even let you resign if you have been in the system for even one day.
They force you to serve 30 days’ notice period even if you work for a day! Here, people manager is the boss, if they choose to screw your happiness, there is no escalation point and no help from anyone else!
