IDONT CARE EYE HOSPITAL, SECTOR 26, NOIDA

I visited I CARE Eye Hospital today to get my eyes checked. The reason that I’m writing to you is that my experience with the hospital was quite unpleasant. I’ve had better experience at government/charitable hospitals.

It is difficult to explain the problem briefly as it was an accumulation of negative attitude and unprofessional behaviour that resulted in this unpleasant experience.

I arrived at the hospital at sharp 11 AM today and joined the queue at the new patients’ registration counter. Once the turn came, the cashier informed that there is a form which needs to be filled in before we can register. There were several others in the queue who were not informed of this procedure. I went back to get the form from the lady at the reception, filled the contents and went back to the queue. By the time my turn came, the cashier attending my queue went off without any announcement. I waited for some 15 minutes and then pointed this aspect to the other cashier. He conveyed that may be the concerned cashier had some work. But he was kind enough to accept my form. On seeing this, people standing behind me also joined the other queue.

The real ordeal started after this. I was registered at 1140 AM and I finally got to see the doctor(Dr. Rita Hansaria)by 2.23 PM. She called out my name at that time. When I asked her why she had personally come to call my name, she conveyed that it was because my name had turned grey on her system which meant that I had waited for more than an hour. This was when her own assistant had been sending people randomly without following any queue procedure.

Once I came out, I realized that I had spent almost half a day without even knowing my complete diagnosis.

I did not come across even a single person in the hospital(Except the optometrist who attended me) who was smiling.

The attendants/technicians did not bother to sanitize their hands or equipment before administering the eye drops or while attending patients. The optometrist used a page torn from a notebook to cover my eye while examination. I’m sure the same piece of paper must have touched at least a 1000 eyes before me. So much for spreading the eye infections.

I’m not sure whether I’ll come back to icare again. I would rather go to Shroff Eye Hospital in Gurgaon. I’ll save some time also.

But I’m sure that I shall not recommend the hospital to anyone.
