Twentieth Century Fox presents A blue Sky production ICE AGE.. And here begins a fun-filled film which has the potential of entertaining kids and adults as well.
SYNOPSIS
Twenty thousand years ago, at the dawn of Ice Age, every single creature was moving South for that was supposedly the only safe place.
Sid, a fast-talking and comical sloth and Manfred, a stern woolly mammoth were walking together, much reluctantly. Both of them were left behind by their respective herd.
Just then, a herd of Saber-toothed tigers attacked a human civilisation, a lady ran with her baby out of her house. She succeeded in saving her baby, but could not succeed in saving herself.
Sid and Manfred found the baby and now they knew they had a task to complete. Return the baby to his father. Quite reluctantly the two team up.
Here enters a sinister saber-toothed tiger, Diego who has been asked by his herd-leader to get the baby for them. Diego decides to go with Sid and Manfred and will leave no stone unturned to get the baby....
Will Diego succeed? Will Sid and Manfred be able to accomplish their task? The movie answers these questions!
Pros of the film
The unlikely trio confront lava pits, go through treacherous ice tunnels and finally a hailstorm comes their way. All these scenes are beautifully executed.
Sid is a funny character and his dialogues are sure to make you laugh. Manfred, though stern, towards the end makes you fall in love with him. The way Diego projects himself, and especially Diegos shifty eyes make this villianish character very convincing.
The squirrel-rat named Scrat who is desperately trying to hide his acorn also provides comic relief to the film.
The film also has those special moments which touch you, very subtly. The climax is SUPERB!
The film has some really memorable lines... LORD OF THE FLAMES, your tail s on fire, is something which stays back for sure!
Cons of the film
HARDLY ANY! But I would say the animation for the human faces doesnt really appeal you. The faces look as if eyes and mouth just popped out on a piece of stone! ;)
A good film, for a more-than-once watch also! For people of all ages!!
For those in India, the copy of the VCD can be bought from https://excelvcd.com for Rs. 299, I myself bought it from there. Along with the movie CD, you get another CD of the MAKING OF ICE AGE which is worth watch too!
