I am an NRI doing MBA through ICFAI’s distance learning scheme. At times there seems to be no coordination amongst ICFAI’s own departments like exams, ssd. The administration needs improvement. This time they have atleast improved on the Online Registration for exams. No more seperate ERFs & permission to be taken from the Indian Embassy each time one appears for the exam have been scrapped off. But the exam fees for appearing from any foreign location costs 250 USD per group which is very expensive. This cost should be reduced for the benefit of the students. I agree with Nirajal who has recommended ICFAI on May12, 2006. Not only the MBA courses good, the other courses like MS-finance, MS-Accounting, etc. are equally good but tough.
Over a period of time the communication between the departments seemd to have improved a bit. The administration still needs to improve a lot. ICFAI should not charge for old question papers from the registered candidates for exams. ICFAI should arrange for clearing student’s doubts through emails. ICFAI does not pay any heed to us NRI students[even though we pay manifolds of the original exam fee]. The university can help us NRI students of a particular region withthe email ids of other students who have registered in that particularregion. This will help us to find some local help in our studies sincethere are no classes held in foreign locations.
The revamped MBA course material is good.
ICFAI should welcome suggestions from its students to keep improving & closing the potholes in its system.Then only ICFAI will be able earn a good name for its both regular & distance learning programs.
