THINK BEFORE SEEKING CAREER WITH ICICI BANK

Respected Madam,


I an Ex-employee of ICICI Bank Wealth Management Kormanagala 4Th B block, Bangalore is writing this mail to seek your kind attention towards the work culture of ICICI bank Wealth management and the struggles that a small level employee faces with the middle level management.


I come from a diversified background where have worked for It company, Real estate in the B2B role.


I joined ICICI bank on May 28/09/2016 as the Deputy manager band II with ICICI bank wealth management .Everything till February was going good for me till the time our branch was a cluster branch and our Cluster branch head Mr. Darshan Thakkar was in charge.


Our Cluster branch head resigned and joined some other organization since then the life for me in ICICI started becoming worse day by day.


I have always believed in you as a mentor a leader and that is one of the reason when I joined ICICI I was very happy about the fact of working with the number one organization in the country and that too been run by leaders like you .


ISSUE 1:


One day in February we had a sales tracker review for the relationship managers as we have it in every month. My Branch manager Mrs. Shraddha Singhdeo called me for the sales tracker review.


She asked me about my sales funnel and I showed her the same .I don’t know madam what had gone wrong but she used vulgar words and abused me.


Things were not yet finished and she asked me again and again that when will I get GI and CASA as one of the parameters in my sales funnel closure, which I accept I did not have at that point of time since all the clients whom I had met till that time in my book were not in need for it.


When I told her the same, she banged the ICICI asset laptop close enough to my face and started shouting like anything very close to my face.She could have been been physical but I took a stand and left the room since I was humiliated.


During the discussion the bank premises was occupied with client s, Regional head home loan, Regional head ICICI Prudential   department and even personal loan department managers


As what I have always known that ICICI has the strongest HR department, I went directly to meet the Head HR Mr. Amit Barui and explained all the sequence of events.Mr Amit Barui heard me and assured that the strictest of action will be taken for the same.


He sent one of the Hr to take report from the relationship managers and then everything was over.


Still nothing happened but I started my day as a usual day thinking that some warning would have been at least issued for the same to my branch manager .But things started even worsening from here on, where it had become like a revenge that Mrs. Sharaddha Singhdeo started taking .She every day in day out wanted me to meet her and give her reports, she started humiliating me in the branch and I really was not able to give my best .


ISSUE2:


One day one of client s who wanted a locker facility since a long time walked in to the branch after I confirmed that it will be done . After repeatedly discussing it with the branch manager and Mr Sreenivas who was the then CSM they told me, to avail a locker the client needs to give cheque of 25000 and some business opportunity.


I spoke to the client and conveyed the same and the client was okay with it. First of all the CSM was postponing the locker facility till 2months and then the CSM Mr. Sreenivas confirmed me one day that the client can come for the locker documentation .


I conveyed the client and the client walked in the branch .Now I went to Sreenivas and told him to get the documents ready for locker .Suddenly the branch manager called me in the Cabin and started shouting at the top of her voice near the CSM that they never promised any locker .Then everything went for a toss and she told that if the client wants a locker he will have to give life insurance.


At this very moment I told her to lower her voice and went off the room.Then my client asked me what was going on why was the branch manager shouting, but I took hold of the situation and told the client that it will be ready in some few days. Then the issue was sorted out and the locker documentation was done .


ISSUE3:


When my confirmation was pending on June 3rd and it was not getting approved, I kept on asking the branch manager Shraddha and she started avoiding telling me that you can complaint to Hr like you always do and I will show you what I can do.


This went on till June 20 th when I escalated the issue to the General Manger HR .He quickly responded back to me that he will take care of it and was about to come to Bangalore on the next week for a session on Hr policies for women .


I got a call from Mr. Amit Barui the very next day that the Regional head Mr. Vikash Mishra and their Hr panel will come to meet me .I thought that maybe they are coming to understand what went wrong and will accordingly sort things out.


But it was something that I never thought of, they had a small discussion with me about my achievements and finally Mr. Vikash Mishra told me to put my papers down .I was clueless and even the HR Mr. Amit Barui stayed silent. When I asked Mr. Vikash Mishra what the reason was for the same, he told me that he has taken a decision after discussing it with the HR.


The very next day I put down my papers, but even after that I closed my last month with a good amount of revenue making branch active on all the parameters.


Till my last day Mrs. Shraddha singhdeo told me Now you understand what I can do.


When I had put down my papers as guided I got calls from all the departments head, Relationship managers who themselves were taken by surprise since this was the first time in the history of ICICI that such an grievance stood neglected and every one told me that this is an organization of Woman empowerment, If you go against a lady you will be done .


This Mail is not to bring any justice to me but to let you know madam that the managers at the middle level have really taken the authorities to get things done their own way .That is why as you will be aware the attrition rate of ICICI has reached the maximum.


My only personal request is to please go to the grass root levels madam and see what is happening, these are the reasons why Clients have become eye rid, since the branch managers want us to gut the products down their throat whether they need it or not .The whole role of relationship managers has been redefined .


I am writing this mail since I believe small changes can make world a better place to live in madam.


My sincere apologies if I am hurting someone by writing this mail but I do not want ICICI bank to lose its value just because of some small errors in the system hence I had to take this issue to you.


My parents have always taught me good things in life and I have always believed in leaders like you since my birth hence I do not want people to take advantage of this.
