This credit card comes from probably the most net-savvy of banks. ICICI bank is a certainly a boon for people like me who thrive on the internet. No wonder, ICICI bank recently won the most preferred credit card award. Infact, the bank has been a pioneer of sorts on various fronts - online interbank money transfer, lifetime free credit card, 5% cashback in festive seasons. The call centre guys seem a lot more authorised and empowered here than with other banks. They are also willing to waive of late payment charges if the reason sounds genuine. However, like all other banks these guys may try to push other products of the bank like the ICICI-Lombard insurance etc. The differentiating factor about ICICI is that it won’t give you surprises on the bill. All the charges are known to the customer upfront.
Having said all this, the reward point system on this bank is not too inviting. Infact, some sub-standard products (Eurotel phone available in plenty on ebay) have made it to their list. Infact, for most products the reward points are at a premium to the actual value (I mean you may have to shell out 150 points to get Rs 100/- off).
