Inexperience Banking Personnels!!

I wish there a better way to publicly bash this Bank, Its irritating how they make their customers go around in circle with the poorest quality of service, quality and service being words they know without its meaning.

I only hope someone from the Bank Reads this so that they will know how irritating it is to deal with them.

I was in India in Feb to open a NRE Account for investments; the bank people came home and did the paper work. They ended up giving me a new account kit with user name and password for online banking.

I got the account activated and I made an attempt to log in only to find out that the password had expired.

I called the phone banking number and was told that the password expired because I didn’t log into my account for since last 60 days!!. I told the person that this was a new account and there was no way I could log in before.

However on their insistence I made are request for new password, it’s been 18 days since the request was made and I still haven’t received the password at my address in India.

I called them 2 times, only to be told that they have escalated the case and I should get it. No time frame given.

What’s irritating is that why in the first place they give a new account kit with expired password? I asked the Branch Manager to explain that, he didn’t really seems to be troubled by that.

This is not the first time that I had trouble with them.

One Week back I had made a request to register my new signature with the Bank, for which I had gone to the bank in person , the Asst Manager of the Bank herself filled the form and got all my signatures, counter signed herself , said will forward it to their head office.   I got an assurance that it was all taken care and their system should be updated with the new information in 10 days.

10 Days later I received the same form back from their head office with a letter stating that there was some information that was missing and asked me to provide it.

What surprised me was why they had send the form to me ? I had filled it as per the instructions, and if there was any information that the Asst Manager was supposed to fill and sign ( which was missing ) , it should have been send to her.

I made a mistake of opening my accounts with them, because the list of complains is never ending.

All I wish is that someone from the Bank who can think , can make decisions, reads this and makes changes to the process making its easy for the customers so that they have a pleasant experience.

Until then I wouldn’t recommend anyone, no matter how nice the banking personal is, and even if they are willing to come home to open an account.

I know a lot of NRI’s who know what quality of service means and definitely they should avoid this bank.
