This review is directed specifically at the following employees:
Mrs. Sudha(Branch Manager - Deonar Branch till on or about 30th April 2015)
Mr. Deepak Gaikwad(Home Loan executive - Reportedly working out of Deonar and Andheri)
I approached the Deonar branch for a home loan around the middle of April 2015 during which I was furnished with a list of documents to provide. Over the next week or two, all of the required documents were handed over to Mr. Deepak Gaikwad.
Post handing over of documents, I did not hear from the branch or any of the two responsible employees for almost 2 weeks. They turned non-responsive on their phones. In the meanwhile, being a home loan, the builder began calling me up to check on the status of his payment. Why shouldnt he? There is a limited time window within which he deserves to be paid. Unfortunately, thanks to ICICI not responding, I couldnt give him any assurances on dates.
Finally, I lost patience and called the branch up directly only to find out Ms. Sudha has been trasferred out to another branch and Mr. Deepak Gaikwad is on leave. Once again, understandable, but isnt one expected to hand over and delegate pending responsibility to somebody else in their absence?
I asked the branch to reverse my papers so that I could go to a competing bank. I send my driver to the branch and they promptly hand over the documents. Still no sign of Sudha or Deepak.
Despite all of this I didnt receive a single call, message or word of apology for a delay that still hasnt been explained to me.
After I received my papers, I sent both Deepak and Sudha messages stating my intention to place complains with ICICI banks leadership about this unwarranted delay and absence to which Deepak promptly calls me back within 5 minutes!
I rest my case. Im sure individuals have had pleasant experiences banking with ICICI Bank. I myself have been a current account customer with them for 2 years. But, based on this experience, I would recommend you steer clear of ICICI when it comes to home loans.
