Title : ICICI Bank - Institutional cheating Review : I have dealed with many banks till now - ICICI, IDBI, HSBC, ABN-AMRO, HDFC, Std Chartered and some public sector banks. But whenever I was cheated it was ICICI bank only. a) I pre-processed my home loan from ICICI Bank., NL Complex. Bhayader extension Paid 2500 rs as processing fee. That’s lost because I moved to Pune and they refused to disburse loan from Pune. b) Then I took a land for which I again applied for loan (through apanaloan) from ICICI. That Rs 1700 processing fee and Rs 2000 spent on creating affidavits is lost (see my other review of apanaloan for this). They are not interested in giving a loan of only 2 lakh when offically they should be. c) I am getting their mails that I have to pay Rs 1650 as non maintenace of QAB for an reimbursement account opened by ex-employer which should have been auto-closed as it was linked with main account which is closed 2 years back. d) Then ICICI Lombart and ABN cheated me by deceptively taking my signatures for some insurance policy. Lost Rs 15000 in this. e) I opened a no-frills zero-balance account in ICICI satara road branch in Pune for my wife. They didn’t have the form for this a/c and opened the a/c on normal form with remarks on top. My 2000 Rs kept in that a/c is adjusted against charges for non-maintenance of QAB. They say it is normal account. I tried to open the no-frills a/c with other branches earlier and they simply refused to open it saying that it is only for poor people. But on their website there is no such condition.
f) I have to open an ICICI salary a/c recently. If the ATM transaction is refused because there is not enough money in A/c
My request to all of you.......... Don’t go for ICICI Bank. Never ever go for ICICI. My friend was in Persistene in Pune. He said they had hundreds of posts in Newsgroup posted under different subject like Insurance, Home loan, Perosnal Banking etc. Which tells how ICICI cheats people.
