I had a savings A/c in ICICI as well as I had a Silver Credit Card of ICICI. I had paid Rs 20000/- against my Credit Card by cheque. The Cheque was drawn on ’’Janta Sahakari Bank’’ Cheque (Local Bank at Kalyan.)
Now Even though I had clearly mentioned my Credit Card Number on the Cheque, ICICI blindly credited the amount in my savings account and informed me that they have never received the cheque against Credit Card untill I found it in my savings a/c.
They were very curious about this matter and told me to visit the Local Bank (means going Office late one day ), request the local bank manager for the copy of the cheque , and fax it to ICICI. I did all this favour to them.
Then again I used to call ICICI whether they had received the fax. Sometimes it took 2-3 days for the fax to reach ICICI from one department to another, sometimes the fax copy was not clear etc. Like this, I had faxed the Cheque copy (Credit Card No clearly visible) to them 5 times. It then took 5 months for ICICI to realise that it was their mistake but they were/are not ready to accept it and now ICICI is telling me to issue fresh Cheque of Rs 20000/- again.To make the matter more worse, they are charging me interest on the (non)outstanding amount of Rs 20000/-,
from the date on which they committed a mistake (June)till date ie., 5 months interest will not be reversed. Now there are many other things which I came across during this. Here I would like to suggest every one that BEWARE of ICICI. I had opened this zero balance account being in a very reputed company and I also would like to give a word of Caution to all my colleagues in my India’s Number one Organisation.
