ICICI bank’s money to India website is a complete nightmare, to say the least. The idea is great. NRI’s can remit money online to India for free. After creating an account, try completing even 1 transaction on the website. It will feel like the greatest acheievement. The site is probably hosted on some server in India or god knows what, but anybody outside India cannot access the site without getting error messages and "page cannot be found" messages at every step of the process.
In the end, everybody gives up in vain. And if you make the mistake of contacting customer service, you will get 1 standard answer, that the site was experiencing temporary difficulty and you should try again. The site seems to work nowhere(atleast in the US).My husband, me, and all our friends have never been able to complete even 1 transaction on this site.
I have never seen a more appaling website- IT DOES NOT WORK. My advice- don’t waste your time trying to remit money through this non working site. I’d rather pay a few dollars than pull my hair out trying to get this hopeless website to work.
