I made a purchase of a Transcend 1 GB Player @ Rs. 5815/- on my ICICI NCash VISA Debit Card on 29/DEC/2005. The shop owner informed me that I can call the ICICI guys and they will contact me, fill out a form and all, in order to give me the 5% Cash Back.
Well, I called the center, and spoke to a Rep named Ninad. He informed me that the 5% Cash back is valid only on Pantaloon Retail, and for Electronics, they will give Rs. 50/- Cash back if the purchase is more than Rs. 1500/-.
I was shocked.. I mean, they don’t communicate such things, and Rs. 50/- back for a purchase of 5815/-... It is like they are obliging us by throwing some money at us...
Too bad experience.
I would never recommend this bank to anyone... A few years back, my Dad also had bad experience with the bank, and he promptly closed the account. I opened the account with them only for the supposedly User Friendly Demat Services that they offer, but now, I have already applied to Sharekhan, and so I think I will end my relations with ICICI soon... but no, wait... I will still have to check.. otherwise they may charge me for closing the account so soon...!!! You never know...!!!
