ICICI Bank Add Payee issue that i had yerterday

I always used to use internet banking for all my transactions. Yesterday my brother was in a need and I had to transfer some amount to him urgently but his account is not added in my funds to Transfer option.


So usually when ever we have to transfer funds through them we have to add the account through internet and then they will send a code for confirmation on a mobile and if you dont have a mobile u need to call customer care center and they will take verification and then they will add the new account for funds transfer.


Yesterday I tried to do the same thing and I have called customer care center(040-23128000) to add a new account for funds transfer. I have authenticated my self by giving debit card number and a PIN number and so many other verifications that they take. All of a sudden they will say that they cannot add a new payee with out a mobile number as per security reasons.


Call center Executive was very clear stating that nobody can add a new account for funds transfer with out having a mobile ( due to security reasons). They say that this service is deactiated from September 4th. And also the exeutive said that they will not communicate these type of changes to users. Great   I pity ICICI Bank beacuse they dont trust their Internet Banking Authentication(Where u will have a User id and login password and a trasaction passwrd etc) and a phone banking authentication(where u will enter ur 16 digit card number and its PIN and after that the customer care executive may ask u r Date of Birth, Mothers maiden name, etc) which are managed by them.


BUT THEY TRUST ONLY A MOBILE WHICH IS MANAGED BY SOME OTHER CELLULAR PROVIDER.    This is a kind of security that we have for our own accounts. You cannot transfer your own money from u r account even if if you want to.    Executive is an idiot to say that I can add any mobile from INDIA if am not there to receive alerts. You know the moment we do this mobile holder will receive all kinds of trasaction messages.   HATS OF TO THEIR SERVICE. I have wasted 1 hour on phone with them yet no resolution.   Chanda Kochhar  are you listening.   Please post my experience so that atleast few of the customers like me will be aware of these idiotic changes that they do to our accounts.
