On 26 July 2004, I approached the bank for a home loan and was promised one
at 7.25 % as there was a home loan mela going on. They also took a cheque of Rs 5000. I personally handed all the papers according to the checklist to the front desk. I was told that I would be receiving the sanction letter in 2 weeks.
It took more than 25 days and that too after repeated enquiries with the bank ( they would be playing the blame game conveniently)....When I received the sanction letter, the rate of interest was 7.5% and I was coldly told that they had forgotten to inform me about the change and that the rates were changed since 28 July 2004, and my papers had not reached them.
When I approached the concerned person, I was told that there was a delay on my part, that I did not produce the required papers on time which is completely opposite of what happened....and I was told if I was not interested in taking the loan I could go to other banks....after paying Rs 5000/- I guess this was a great plan hatched by the manager and the front desk people of catching unsuspecting customers.
This bank is on Residency Road, Bangalore. Next to bangalore central.
I recommend, not to go to ICICI bank for home loans, as a matter of fact for any loans. I had a very bad experience, people dont help at all, they would even cold shoulder you. AVOID ICICI BANK
