Phew, the most awful bank. Have been a faithful SBI customer, their service has been okay. I went with the impression that private sector banks are more professional.
Well they are a bunch of egomaniacs. I decided to open an account with ICIC bank. The marketing fellow directly smooth talked me in to opening a privildegd account. Told me that my account had been opened immediatly.
When I went to use the facilities like ATM or internet banking I could not. Then I found out that my account had to be activated. After 1 week it had still been not activated. Called the rep again, he told me he required some more documents. Come on guys you should know what documents you need before hand. My cheque was still with them.
Still no news for 2 weeks. Again they told me it will be activated in 2 days. Got fed up, went to the bank and found out that my application was still with them. SBI openend and activated my account in 2 hours and these duds were sitting on it for a month. Their call centre are useless, you call them and they say contact the bank. I felt more underpriviledged than priviledged.
I decided the to close my un opened account. Some much hassels for opening an account, imagine your plight after opening one. Its stressful banking with them. They have lost a customer, I had immense faith in them, but now I feel they have let done our country.
