I had applied for a students acc. in August and just to fix up, confirm and reconfirm an appointment and god knows what, they took a good two weeks.Anyway, when their representative finally turned up he was a good 5-hour late. But since it was raining heavily that day, it didnt matter, but the processing of my form took another 1 month when in fact I was assured that I would be getting my ATM card, Credit card, etc. within 2 weeks. More than a month passed, no news, so when I finally called them up they were like maam, when did you apply, do you know the name of the rep., or at least the marketing agency....blah...blah. So in other words, my good ol saved-up pocket money of Rs.500 was down the drain. Finally, one day I called up at their head office and blasted them up, how the hell am I to know that guys name, marketing agency, etc.For me, ICICI was a trusted name and I simply did not pay attention to other details. So, after a few days, I get a call from a Miss Nandita saying that Oh, you see that marketing rep. was out of town, we are very sorry. Well, that was the end of ICICI and my student acc. Sorry, I dont buy their story of being overworked, the bank is good, no doubt, but they seriously need a good revamping on their Public Relations Dept.Last heard they have even opened an acc. for kids, something like kid-e-bank (i think im right), my full sympathies are with them ( I mean the poor kids!), so... what next?? An acc for newborns, well, let me think of an appropriate name for it....my first time! Grow up, buddy! Have a thousand customers but treat them like a king!
p.s. Ever seen the Global Trust Bank advertisement near their Mahim branch? Learn a lesson or two from them!
