Very disappointed to see previous reviews ranking ICICI bank as poor. As a matter of fact all these reviews are old enough, and I can assert that over the time ICICI bank has improved lot (based on my current experiences).
I have NRE account and I am actively using it (99% online) without any trouble. The money transfer service is excellent and I have personally developed confidence over the time in it (wrt rates, timing etc)
Customer service - I have great experience with CS agents, be that on phone or online chat.
Anywone looking for good banking solution (NRE/Normal), ICICI is one of best options (depends on which city you are in- consider number of ATMs).
For NRIs, this bank gives best FOREX rates reliably and free transfer if you (or your keen) have account with ICICI.
Only thing made me little unhappy at the begining was tedious process for account opening, this could be due to any regulations etc but it takes 10-30 days for NRI to open account. Have to ’post’ application form. Online account opening is just not really online account opening.
