Hi,
I have done the best thing today. I have closed my ICICI bank savings a/c. This was something I was planning to do for last couple of weeks.
Friends, I was one of the early hundreds of customers of the Bank in Pune. I was quite impressed with the service, ATM network etc.
But for last one year & so, I am bombarded with all types of rules. Rules for S/b a/c, rules for credit card case payment etc.
For last two years I have been experiencing that the cheque deposited in this bank takes at least four days to get cleared. Try contacting helpline on phone & you have to wait for at least 15 minutes to talk to their representative.
Last year, I deposited a cheque which was issued by my client (SBI, Veer Savarkar Marg, Mumbai). The cheque didnt get cleared for 3 weeks. YES!! THREE weeks. Complaining on helpline (as usual) proved futile & when I went to the branch & persisted with my query abt the cheque, to my horror, I found that the GREAT ICICI BANK person had deposited (or was trying to ) the cheque in a/c. of Veer Savarkar. I was about to close my a/c then & there, but was requested by the manager not to do so. But he didnt apologise in writing.
Now a days, without informing the customers, the bank charges penalty for not maintaining min. balance on day to day basis.
The staff , I have found so far, is most non cooperative & is rude & harsh most of the times. May be this is the way youngsters are supposed to behave with customers in ICICI bank.
ICICI bank is after minting money. When I closed my a/c, I had to pay Rs. 100/- as a/c closing charges.
I am going back to SBI, which offers as many services with typical staff behaviour taken for granted.
