Hi all people


I have gone through all reviews in this forum and I am quite ammassed by the anger and hatetred ppl have towards ICICI bank. well let me briefly tell myself before I write the actually stuff.


I am a ex-employee of the bank. I was working as a branch manager in delhi till he a year ago. I am working with a good bank now.


ICICI the structure


The banks internal structure is very confussing. further people do not have enough powers to take spot decision. A branch manger has to take approval from the zonal manger for buying a set of tubelights and pens. That why work gets delayed. Each and everything has to go through certain departments, till its reaches the office where the thing will be done. ICICI is more like a goverment inside. its a casual atmosphere where works are done very slowly. The bank has setup back office in all cities. These back offices are like factories. The people working here are like machines. they do not have enough knowledge about what they are doing and hence things go wrong most of the time.


The focus


The banks focus is to expand very fast and be on top. The bank employes around 15000 outsourced people for marketing and sales.The bank sets very high target for the sales people. The bank wants overtake SBI in 5 years.


The staff


The staff are very overworked. People work for around 14-15 hours a day. and also a person handels around 5-6 roles. The staff do not get even 30mins to have thier lunch properly. The only organisation where counter staff are give sales target for selling insurance/gold coin/ mutual funds. The staff are not trained properly. The staff get tired and irritated after working for 14-15 hours. most of them have given there personal life.


Internal rating process.


The employee rating process is just like a goverment organisation. you have to butter your boss to get a promotion. I have seen ppl getting 4 promotions in a year. and many deserving people have no propmotions for 3-4 years.


The real problem is that a lot off good people are leaving the bank. the experienced staff have left due to low pay. The bank is one of the poorest salary paying in the country. even a co-op bank pays good. The new staff do not get trained before assining for they job. Further the banks main think tank is very strange. they keep changing there polices very often. that is why branch people have a lot of trouble in explianing to customer’s about the change in banks policies.


another problem is that the banks customer service rating is going down. The banks customer base is growing at ariund 20% and the infrstructure development is around 5%.
