I have been with ICICI Bank from 2003 and they were my primary bank for most of this time(I recently pulled out all my money). While I have a couple of positive things to say about them(longer hours, decent ATM network), I must warn any potential ICICI Bank customers: STAY AWAY FROM ICICI They will rob you blind! I was cheated by ICICI Bank(and also by ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company in a separate case) in a recent foreign exchange transaction. They took 34 days to credit my US$ cheque instead of the usual 7-8 working days for a provisional clearance! They also gave me a lousy exchange rate(Thousands of Rupees difference). Challenging ICICI Bank via their Customer Service is useless. I got their top-level Mumbai people involved, but still nothing worked. What all you get from them is some useless letter that doesnt admit to any wrong-doing! Over the phone, they may admit to their mistakes, but they will NOT put it in writing; they will NOT make amends for their mistakes. They will not comply when you ask for their records(obviously theyre hiding information from you).
They call me a HNI because of the high account balance I had with them-but that didnt prevent them from charging me Rs. 506 for a simple DD! If you are not careful, you are sure to get cheated by ICICI Bank. In my dealings with the Branch people and the corporate officials in Mumbai, I find them to be crooks. They are polite, yes. But they are all crooks.
You are better off taking your money elsewhere!
