First I would like to clear that I am not an ICICI Bank customer, but as a Citibank’s customer I tried to do an atm transaction at ICICI bank atm at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Though I stay in Bangalore, I visited Jamshedpur during June 2011. I placed request on ICICI bank’s atm to withdraw Rs. 5500, but I received only 4400. I received 8x notes of Rs. 500, and 4x notes of Rs. 100.
I registered a complaint at my bank for this fraud, Citibank told me that they would give remaining Rs. 1100 immediately and will do a investigation with ICICI Bank. If they found my request to be invalid they would deduct Rs. 1100 from my account. After few days, I got a call from Citibank that ICICI did an investigation and found my complaint to be invalid, so they deducted the amount.
I tried to search google about this topic, and found out that so many complaints have been registered against ICICI bank’s atm for giving less money. I told Citibank customer care that I know I received less amount, I saw it, no investigation can make me believe I received full amount. They were sorry. Guys, I can’t say how ICICI’s overall banking experience is, but I would just like to tell that just beware of ICICI Bank ATMs. Unless you cant find any other ATM, dont use it.
