My wife and me using ICICI for around two years and mostly used for fund transfer from US on monthly basis. I ve just upset before two months after crediting the money to my account. They have given a very low rate(USD to INR) for my transfer than the actual rate on that specific day and my wife got the correct rate for her transfer. Both transfers are done on the same day, same time.
I ve contacted their customer service, there was no response from them. waited for one week. posted another complaint. afer 2 days their representative "Rajesh Singh NRI Manager ICICI Bank" has been contacted and the first line was "We assure you that we have provided you with the best possible exchange rate and will be unable to provide you with the additional exchange rate." And some more generic blah blah. I ve replied with the exact details and mismatch on the exchange rate for two transfers done on the same day, same time. And told him that the exchange rate should be higher for the higher transfer and the higher amount was mine than my wife. He again, replied with some more blah blah.
In short, I ve lost more than INR.4K on single transfer and they are trying to state it is not their mistake. Even though I will have to get higher rate for this transfer, as the amount is higher for me. I am considering this as a cheating, than a mistake from ICICI bank. Although, I ve tough time with their ATM service. I ve closed my account with them. Please do not trust this ing bank for fund transfer from abroad.
