I am having an ICICI bank account just because my organisation is going to transfer my salary only to an ICICI Bank account. So, literally speaking I am stuck with this account till the time I work in this organisation.
Couple of weeks back I deposited a Swiss Franc Cheque which was issued by my organisation. This was drawn on UBS bank. When I went to deposit the cheque with ICICI Bank, I was told that the charges for the same would be around Rs. 600/- but when the money got deposited into the account there was not only a deduction of Rs. 600 towards their services but a 30 Swiss Francs deduction in my deposit as well.
Apparently ICICI Bank does not have a relation with UBS bank and hence had to send the cheque for collection and hence they conveniently levied the charges to my account. My argument to the official (which is still continuing) is that I was never told of these extra charges for collection.
As a customer I have every right to know what the charges are towards any servive. They are so bloody arrogant that they don’t even acknowledge the fact that they have committed a mistake of not informing the customer of the charges before hand. Now, this is a bank that we trust our monies with and what do they do to us, cheat us in broad daylight.
So friends I would recommend you not to bank with ICICI Bank. You are better off with any nationalised bank. Please think twice before you decide. Do not get carried away by young and energetic staff who are totally ignorant of the rules. This is just one instance of negligence.
