It happened so....
I was employed at one of the software companies having office at Nariman POint, Mumbai. There is an ICICI branch next to our building. My company had all the Salary accounts with this branch. As a new employee, I was to open new salary accont and hence was given a ’Ready-to-use’ Account. This a/c by default has all the features like ATM, Chequ book, Phone banking, & Net banking. I filled up the accompanying form and was told by Customer care executive that my account would be activated within 10-15 days.
After about a month, I left that company. The information regarding the bank account details that my company was supposed to provide was not provided by my company. Till the time I was under the impression that my account is already activated. One fine day, I went to ATM and deposited few thousand bucks into the account. The ATM transaction was successful and the acoount balance shown was perfect.
After few days, I went to ATM to withdraw some amount from this account. The ATM displayed that Account is NOT ACTIVATED. I got the same reply from the Mumbai branch where I ad opened the account with. I do not understand that how come the ATM can ACCEPT the money while depositing, even though the Account was not activated.
Now there is no was I’m able to withdraw this money. This issue was repeatedly turtled by me with the ICICI executives, every-time they made false promises to return my money. Its being more then a year since this incident.........my money is gone....
