I went to my local branch recently to open a linked FD with my savings a/c but I was surprised when I was told by the rep that there’s no such type of account available. This at a time when almost all the banks have come up with such features. But I was told that there’s a special FD available for 390 days and more. The rep tried to sell me the FD for a 2yr term which comes with a free Reebok kit but I took the one for little over a year instead.
Now whether the rep wasn’t really sure about the linked account or was trying to sell is for you to guess. But it’s entirely wrong on their part to mislead. This may be the last time that I’ll do business with them.
