Why doesnt ombudsman close down this bank????!!!

I have never had such bad experience any bank as much as with this one.they SUCK big time.


Some western great  has said no matter how much you grow.you shud not forget the basic rule of existence.provide good and basic customer service.unfortunately they are in india where everything chalta hai and so they come up with their grandpapy song " Hum Hai na" although we can easily fill the next line were it a fill in the blanks.hum hai na to screw you.and thats what they exactly do.although they cliam to be a private bank they are nothing but a govt organisation run by a uninformed and callous workforce.


Recently I deposited a cheque in the NRE account.The check was an INR cheque but remitted from overseas.I asked them if they could deposit it and the rep said "Yes dont worry.HUM HAI NA"


One week later I checked with them and they said the cheque has almost been deposited but they need a letter from the foreign institution tsaying that  they cheque was issued from an NRE account.I said why would the foreign company issue me a letter like that and how would they understand what an NRE account is.I said that wasnt going to be possible.then they said well in that case we cant do much cos the check has already been remitted.I asked them what dyu mean remitted and they say the money is in the process of being deposited.(whatever that means!).Now I got really pissed off and told them: Pls return my cheque if you cant make the deposit and they say: we cant return your cheque: its against the company policies.


now thats whats called CATCH-22. they wont deposit cos the check is in INR and they wont give it back cos its against company policies, so where does that leave me!


So I shoot a couple of emails; guess all those emails were directed to their trashbox.


When after 2 weeks I still see no sign of the deposit I call their reps hoping to get a resolution.they admit the bank is wrong in not returning me the cheque and should have informed me before they went ahead with the deposit.They also say its a unique case and they have no resolution and would have to contact their managers.after a lot of calls and a lot of haggling and begging and wasting dollars they agree to give me a service no.


The cheque was a small amount nothing big.and I guess I lost more dollars(in the calls and endless waiting on the other side of the phone) and peace trying to do a martin luther king and making them see that they and their policies are wrong.


Iam still awaiting an action but atleast I have a service request no.


Guess they are still singing their morbid grandpapy thing "HUM HAI NA".what a piece of crap they are.EVEN THE SMALL TIME BANKS ARE BETTER THAN THEM
