I received an unsolicited call asking if I wanted an ICICI Credit Card. I agreed (Big Mistake !!) They asked for my Feb Mar and Apr Payslips and Bank statements. It was collected by their courier from my office. Then, they said that they wanted my May payslip & Bank statements as well - by email to pune1.cards@gmail.com. Sent that as well.
Next day they asked for my June Bank statement reflecting my May salary. Sent that as well. After that they began badgering me at all odd hours asking for various details. One woman calling from 8855842651 kept saying that I hadn’t sent the details and that there was something wrong with my documents. When I asked to be put through to her supervisor she refused saying "you have no brains" or words to that effect.
In addition the same party called from another number 823714926 and has been sending me sms and soliciting my business. Each call resulted in three persons giving me mutually contradictory requirements.
Finally in sheer disgust I asked them to stop bothering me - and that I DID NOT WANT THEIR CREDIT CARD.
Bottom Line : who is checking what they do with our documents? Is there any method to ensure ethical conduct? Who are these people ? Please be very careful before you hand over your documents to them. Do not make the mistake I made..
