This is an undeniable and universally acknowledged fact that the banks DO NOT, in spite of tall claims in advertisements, CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS !!
How many of us would deny having had "atleast one" BAD EXPERIENCE with some bank at one time or another ? Lucky to be in a minority ! Perhaps ? Or, maybe, you do not use banking services at all ?
ONE SIMPLE OBSERVATION will suffice for today : In this age of e-communication, when almost everyone prefers to e-mail rather than write, there is still no uniformity at all in the Banks email IDs
( IT IS VERY EASY TO DO - TOO) relating to Customers interaction with
Their bank .
See for yourself :-
If communicating with : You have to use ( email ID ) :
------------------------------- -----------------------
ABN Amro Bank cardservices@ in.abnamro.com
Citibank indiaservice@citicorp.com
HDFC Bank support@hdfcbank.com
ICICI Bank customer.care@icicibank.com
SBI feedback.gesbi@ge.com
And the list is only indicative - not exhaustive. Simply put, I can not communicate with my Bankers unless
(1) I am carrying along a document with the relevant ID inscribed (OR)
(2) I have a phenomenal memory like that of Mrs. Shakuntala Devi.
Yet, having an ID in hand, gleaned from your Credit Card Statement , is also no guarantee that your message will get across ! Either, the email is undeliverable or it is ignored. And, IF both these things do not happen, then , at least, you can be assured that your plea will be heard " within 5 working days" ( ICICI Bank actually makes this claim ).
That nothing happens even after 5 weeks is another matter altogether !! The author of this review, being CEO of Destination Excellence ( the name of Company is "Indicative" of the "Type of Consultancy" it "strives to provide") will not dare to name the Bank without proof.
With due apology to ICICI Bank, for being named, the writer concurs that their competitors - some of whom are named above - fare no better.
