I want to share a pleasant experience with ICICI lombard. Recently, while driving to office in the morning in peak Bangalore traffic, a reckless auto wala banged my car from behind while attempting to jump a red light at a traffic intersection. He sped away... my car got damaged and a deep dent formed at the back. I was alone in the car.
I looked helpless... I called up ICICI Lombard toll free number from my mobile to register my claim. Just from my mobile number, they were able to trace the entire policy details of my car & on the spot they gave me a insurance claim reference number. I was advised to take the car to the nearest authorised workshop within 24 hrs.
I went to the nearby workshop where the insurance & accident help desk of the dealership asked me which insurance I possessed. When I told them that it was ICICI & quoted the reference number, the car was accepted for repairs within 30 minutes - I only had to fill a claim form. The surveyor from ICICI inspected the car on the same day & I was able to get back the car after body repairs within 3 days, that too with a cashless facility!! I just had to pay for the rubber & consumables which are not covered through insurance.
This is amazing because in the same dealership, I saw several people like me who were running from pliiar to post with government insurance papers in their hands (like Oriental, New India...) who do not offer cashless claims. They were being advised to submit the claim forms at the regional offices & wait for the company surveyor to come over & inspect the damages, which could take more than 3 days... after which the car would be taken for repairs (if the surveyor approves).
Hats off to ICICI lombard which saved my time, energy & efforts, that too at a time when I was down mentally after an accident. Hope that the company will continue to excel with such service in the days to come.Help came when it mattered the most.
