would like to share my horrible experience with ICICI Lombard... one fine day, an employee from this so called reputed company calls me on my cell, tells me that he is calling from Delhi, and asks me if I am interested in taking a particular type of medical insurance.... he talks abt it at length... then I finally told him that I would like to think abt it and discuss with my family.... he said that he will send the papers and that I can decide and send them later...
when I get my ICICI credit card bill for the month, I am horrified to see that the premium amount is shown debited in the statement... when I called the ICICI credit card people, they say they are in no way related to this incident... if they are not related, how did those guys get my credit card details ?? and most important of all, without any signed document from my side authorizing these people to debit money from my card, how can they go ahead?? I had to talk to the insurance people and the credit card people for almost 1 hour... they told that I had given oral confirmation during the call.... how ridiculous.... and they asked me to pay up the money this month, and they would reimburse the money next month.... what is the guarantee that they would follow what they tell.... after so much of tension and shouting, I told them that I was going clear up the due amount (apart from that related to the insurance) and I would throw away the card... I wrote a snail mail to those guys explaining their lack of security regarding the customer information and terminated my credit card...
I just wanted to inform all u guys out there to be careful if u receive such a call... please proceed only if u are really interested...
