Worst experience with ICICI Lombard Health Insurance by my close friend. My friend Vinoth Kumar T had booked a health insurance policy for his mother over phone. The phone guy entered incorrect age for my friend’s mom. The policy came. My friend noticed that his mother showed underaged and called up ICICI Lombard. Lombard people said it doesn’t matter and convinced him with his mother’s wrong age. (This is illegal as per IRDA regulations.).
Years of payment having been made, a month ago, his mother had issues with spinal and got operated. He spent Rs. 75000.00 and submitted claim. Now Lombard shows its CHEAT and REAL face. They say now that his mother’s age is more than what the policy shows, (when it was their mistake to have entered it wrong while booking, not not correcting even when my friend called up).
They also rejected the claim saying the age is incorrect and falls below the actual age slab. My friend is ready to pay all the difference of premium as this was not his mistake in entering and verifying the incorrect age.
They rejected claim and when he raised an issue with them, they now say that they will cancel policy and refund all premiums.
Now understand the catch...
Delibrately enter wrong age for elderly person.
When called and informed about, they do not correct it ( IRDA Offence)
Not settling claim despite having paid all premiums and the insurer ready to pay the difference money in premium. Its LOMBARD’s CHEATING TRICK.
Readers, please do not fall prey to ICICI Lombard at all. I too never expected this from ICICI Lomard as I had a good opinion with all ICICI entities.
Now I am the one who is going to guide him with further proceedings with IRDA Case creation, Consumer Court proceedings and to publish this in all public reaching sites, blogs and also in media if need arises.
If ICICI Lombard agrees to approve and pass the claim, I won’t move further and my friend will pay for the difference of premium.
ICICI Mangement should strictly look into this. If you catch customtakeouters and make them your prey to run your business, no, its not fair nor a business ethics.
