I purchased ICICI overseas student medical insurance 2 years back when I was traveling to the USA for my higher education. My brother works for ICICI and thats what made me take the policy in the first place. He renewed it the first time. I renewed it the second time recently 1 month back. So here is the problem. Though I have paid for the policy I do not have a copy since their system shows an error. I have paid the money, shown proof of payment as amount debited from bank account, shown transaction record, printed receipts, customer interaction numbers and service/complaint requests, all to no avail. My brother, an emplyee has been unable to do anything fruitful either.
Everybody blames it on everybody else. I was guaranteed results within 5 business days and its been a month since I have paid and I am still uninsured. By the way I am bloody sure and have it confirmed that if something happens during this period, I can sue the company since I paid them but they didnt give me a copy of insurance policy. Well, their system apparently cannot generate it and produces an error. Bravo !!!
Bottomline - Stay away from ICICI Lombard student medical insurance, pay nearly same amount for local insurance policies in university.
