The reason why I decided to buy the ICICI Lombard Family Floater Policy, online, was due to the following:-
1.) For me the ICICI Brand name stands for quality and efficiency (at least that is what I thought till 01/07/2008, having my past experience of dealing with ICICI bank for last 10 years).
2.)Their Family floater health plan was projected as the best possible solution for my family (as informed to me by their sales staff-but now I realise it was all rubbish).
3.)This policy was available online and the following is mentioned on the company’s website:

"Why buy online at https://icicilombard.com? We give you a few of many reasons why ----The hard copy of the policy is couriered the same day (or next day if customer buys after 6 PM) and will reach him/her within 2-3 working days.---" (simply a LIE as I have experienced first-hand)
I took this policy ONLINE on 01/07/2008 and since that date I am running from pillar to post and experiencing the REAL ICICI Lombard. To my shock none of the interactions I had with different channels - Toll-free number / Online chat / Email to Service Quality Head elicited any response that could even come close to AVERAGE. TODAY IS 24/07/2008 AND EVEN AFTER REPETED CONTACTS WITH ICICI LOMBARD, USING THE CHANNELS MENTIONED ABOVE - ALL I RECIEVED IS APOLOGIES AND FALSE AND MISLEADING ASSURANCES - COULD SOMEONE TELL ME WHY IS IT TAKING THEM 24+ DAYS TO DELIVER MY POLICY / HEALTH CARDS / FREE HEALTH CHECK-UP COUPON, even when their website mentions it takes ONLY 2-3 WORKING DAYS TO DELIVER IT TO THE CUSTOMER.IT SIMPLY MEANS WHAT THEY HAVE MENTIONED ON THE WEB SITE , as given in point 3 above, IS A PACK OF LIES.THE MOMENT CUSTOMER PAYS THE PREMIUM FOR THE POLICY, THIS COMPANY TURNS A DEAF EAR TOWARDS THE CUSTOMER.ITS REALLY PATHETIC AND A BREACH OF TRUST.
I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS POLICY FOR ANYONE.BEWARE OF THEM.
