Worst experience with ICICI lombard travel insurance.
I took ICICI lombard travel insurance for bus journey through Goibibo. They have benefit of "Trip Cancellation and Interrruption" under policy certificate. I cancelled my bus ticket due to death of close relative. I filled claim with ICICI lombard to claim cancellation amount. I gave them documents which I had. So, instead of approving my claim, they asked irrelevant and meaningless questions, documents.
Below is my experience:
I had 2 bus tickets under one bookingId. Ticket was booked on mine and my wife’s name. First of all ICICI approved claim of one ticket and rejected for another ticket which was booked on my wife’s name. After long conversion with ICICI manager said that person who died was my relative, not my wife’s so they rejected my wife’s claim. What a frustrated reply. So, If someone is travelling with family and cancel ticket due to death of any relative then they reject claim saying that person who died should have blood relationship with you. And for one approved claim also they asked for death certificate.
Another thing, I was travelling with my wife so I have been asked to prove relationship between me and my wife. Meaningless ask!
Another thing, I have been asked to get death certificate of my relative who died. Now 2 ticket amount was appr. 1000 Rs. Does this sounds ok to ask relative death certificate to claim amount? Again fraustred reply of their manager.
I was really frustrated with multiple emails and irrelevant. Finally I didn’t get anything from them. It was worst experience.
Never ever buy ICICI travel insurance. One Top they show several benefits under insurance but inside they have very bad policy.
