I bet most of you already know about this website and the reviews at mouthshut are fairly informative. So let me comment on only some specific experiences.
I am a customer of ICICI Direct for over a year now. The online linking of bank account and the online transactions are a great experience.
Till now I have only dealt in stocks and reading the reviews of yogeshkulkarni and others about mutual funds here on mouthshut I am not going ahead with that even though I was thinking of it.
The brokerage is higher than other players in the market.
The customer service is not a good experience.
Address change is a dead end process here. All was well till I moved out of my current residence to a new one. Requests for address change were not taken care of despite repeated requests. I also found out that the other data which was submitted on the forms filled by the ICICI direct agent earlier were not accurate. I went to a ICICI demat branch, waited for an hour and half as the agents were clueless about the process and there were no forms for an address change. The only form was that of an address verification and that was for an account opening form. After having filled this up form I waited for a month for something to happen. Nothing did. My earlier landlord still keeps getting all my demat statements.I would advise you to put only your permanent address in the account opening forms and not your present address.
During the days of the WIPRO share split it took them a really long time and multiple requests to have that reflected on the portfolio.
Could someone here let me know whether it is just mine or the complete customer service thats bad?
