I have been using ICICI Direct since the last 3 months, and what I have to say is the site is very slow and the capacity of the server is just not enough to take peak time load.
I have realized this on numerous ocations and also updated it to the help desk and they acknowledged the same and told me that they have been woring on the issue.
Last week, after the SEBI’s announcement when the market crashed, so did ICICI Direct and I was not able to buy any stocks, and by the time the site came up the market also has recovered.
ICICI Direct charges me for holding a Demat and Trading account, but whats the use when the site is not up a crucial times, when the investor can take benefit out of it.
I would recommend other users who are planning to open an acciunt with ICICI Direct to move to Reliance Money, where the charges are very low compared to ICICI Direct and the site too seems quite friendly, I am moving over and so as some of my friends are.
ICICI Direct needs to improve its infrastructure, to stay in the business, whats the use when you need the most the site is not running, even now are I am writing this review, the site is not able to show my portfolio or my watchlist.
