I have used ICICIDirect.com for about 3 years now. Their website had been very slow for many years, especially when I needed to trade urgently. It seems to be better this year. Their portfolio section has improved, but needs more work.
Also, I NEVER received replies to ANY e-mails I wrote to their customer service through their website. Also, they never cared for any good ideas I gave to improve the user-friendliness of their really bad GUI. They think a trading website is all about just buying and selling and some news etc. They have some good stuff, but put together in a BAD way.
Overall, my trading experience has been average and I have made some money using it. I think there is no better option in this country at the moment, so we’ve to live with it!
For starters, it is a decent enough website to trade. I like the mutual funds trading through this website which is hassle-free. Also, you by trade govt bonds etc. too. Also, you can has SIPs SWPs etc. through this website and you can link your icici bank accounts through this website.
