I recently opened a DMAT account with icicidirect, though the process of opening the account was little complicated involving lot of paperwork but the customer service executive was friendly.
Overall the process was smooth. Once the account was opened, I received the papers within 5 days and than a relationship manager visited my house for a demo on the usability.The user interface for icicidirect is fairly easy to understand and the flow is intuitive.
I have used sharekhan and indiabulls earlier but in comparison to this they both seem to have a very complicated user interface. The best thing about icicidirect is that they don’t pester you with calls and sms exhorting to buy something just because they have some insider tip.
Though they don’t interfere on daily basis but if you seek any information, they are prompt to respond and solve the issue. I wouldn’t recommend icicidirect to an investor who is a daily trader ( commission is higher than others) but anyone who invests regularly in equity, debt, IPOs, and funds, likes to research on his own and doesn’t trust non-banking financial companies providing online trading services, icicidirect is the best solution.
