The service of icicidirect.com is totally lousy and pathetic.Especially their kolkata office.I had contacted icicidirect to open a 3-in1 account way back in april and ultimately the papers were submitted because of their delay along with two cheques of Rs5000 and Rs 750.A Mr Indranil, who is supposed to be in charge of account opening here, interacted with me and said it will take about 2 weeks at the most.After repated phone calls and emails, I am yet to recieve any opening kit as promised by them.Instead I got a email saying my account has been opened and I will recieve everything in 8 dats(this was on 20th may).I recieved another email on 22nd that , hang on, my account has not been opened cause there was rms signature mismatch(whatever that means), fault in name of nominee, etc
.Before submitting the form, I wanted to fill up the account opening form myself.They said, I dont have to take the trouble and only need to sign at so many places, they will do everything for me..Its evident now that they have wrongly filled my application form, which has been returned from their mumbai office.I rang up Mr Indranil, who initially didnt answer his phone.On second day, after so many phone calls, he answers and says he is out of station and gave me a number to ring a miss meha paul, here in kolkata.I ring her, she says that she will get back to me.When she does she says, that as per her records, my account has opened.Then I tell her that I have recieved the 2nd email saying that it has NOT.
She then says, she will get back to me.Next day I am told by her that there is only a minor problem, somebody has wrongly spelt my name(just imagine I am a first time customer and how I feel that my name has been spelt wrongly by some employee and that has caused me so much delay in actually opening the account).I was promised that it will be sorted out soon and I dont have to do anything and they will rectify and do the needful.After one week, when I had no information from them, i again wrote a email to them.This time, after few days of agonizing wait again, i got a reply from their mumbai office that , they have sent my form to their kolkata office, and somebody has already contacted me and sent the form to me to get it corrected by me!!!.I wrote them back saying to get your information correct
Firstly, nobody has contacted me.When I contacted them, their employee meha paul told me that THEY will correct everything as the problem was created by them, and they will sort out the problem soon.I have written this enail to mumbai office a week back, and got a system generated reply that I will get a reply in next 3 days.I AM YET TO GET ANY CLARIFICATION OR EVEN A REPLY FROM KOLKATA OFFICE OR MUMBAI OFFICE.I EVEN RANG INDRANIL A FEW DAYS BACK, HE SAID HE DOESNT HAVE THE DETAILS, HE WILL ASK MEHA PAUL TO CONTACT ME AND GIVING ME A STATUS REPORT ON MY ACCOUNT OPENING.
I WAS STILL WAITING FOR MEHA PAUL TO RING ME UP. BUT NOT ANYMORE.
Today morning, I have instructed my bank to make a STOP PAYMENT ADVICE on both the cheques of Rs5000 and Rs 750. I am NO longer interested in dealing with ICICIDirect or Icicibank ever again, and I promise I will let know all my relatives and friends about there lousy and stupid service.
They just lost a good and potential big customer...and many more in the future!!
Hope ICICIDIRECT takes action against their kolkata office for such a shabby performance.
