I have been a user of icicidirect for many years. Based on my transactions, I can only classify myself as an’investor’ as against a’trader’. Occassionally, I have tried to do some trading and gave up, partly because of lack of adequate system support. I also tried other systems(not name, including the high promising yet never delivering ones)
With my experince I would say icicidirect is good for investing and will NEVER recommend this site for any traders. If one understands the technology platform, it is easy to understand why it is so. Biggest problems with icicidirect are 1) System crashes/does not respond on the most hectic moments. It happened to me on all the BIG days of Indian stock markets(I have heard that all the other systems also crashed on these days. 2) the navigation/process is quite lengthy, even to do a single transaction 3) high brokerages.
In a nutshell, the system is reliable except on the BIG days.
