I have been using an Idea postpaid connection since 2011 after running into lot of mental agony with Airtel. Till this time I had always been using an Airtel connection and though Idea had too much of hype around it and was not that good in real. however after taking this connection in 2011 my perspective about Idea changed completely.
I work for a software company and needed a plan which would help me get free calls to other idea users in the same plan. Please note this is not a corporate connection but an individual connection. The executive explained everything and got the needful done. However, where they have messed up bigtime is that while my first name is correct, they have used my Father’s name as my surname which is incorrect. Repeated calls to the customer care has not resolved it and since it is not hurting me I am so far okay with it.
Network coverage is pretty decent though in some areas Vodafone seems better for now but only in terms of network coverage for that area. Have had to call the customer care a couple of times and the people are very well educated on what they should do unlike Airtel and Idea where they have completely uneducated villagers sitting to help you out.
I have visited their outlet 1-2 times and its way well organized when compared to airtel and vodafone customer stores which is nothing better than a fish market with multiple customers fighting with them most of the times. You take a token and await your turn and once it comes you are properly attended in a good manner.
I recently went to take a micro-sim and again the experience is good. They were very prompt in service and the new sim got activated as promised by them. I also started using 3G for the last 1-2 months. its slightly expensive(250 bucks for 1GB) I think but in city limits and most of Pune but in some places the network for 3G is horrible. However it is still okay since my office is in city and most part of the day I am in office because of which I get excellent speeds.
I have fortunately or unfortunately had experiences with Vodafone, Airtel and Idea and so far Idea has been the best in all respects for me. The network is decent or good and best part is the customer care where you don’t need to pull off your hair like with Airtel or Vodafone. My experience with Idea is way better than the other two on the whole and would recommend it to others as well
