I am not a user of the Idea mobile but my brother and quite a few of my friends are idea subscribers. Idea came with a bang into pune. And for a while they were the most reliable and best provider in the city and maharashtra.
But somewhere along the lines they have seemed to have lost out to airtel, reliance and even BSNL..... the coverage of idea is good, but then the coverage of all providers in pune ( Airtel, BPL, Reliance, Tata ) barring BSNL is good. So why do I say it is a bad !dea, well there are various reasons.
No 1 reason is overpricing ... they are hands down the most expensive service in pune, and they have gotto give.
Also any puneite would agree that there are certain business ethics to be followed in order to be successful in the city, and the service provided by idea is no where close to good. Infact the most arrogant customer ’’care’’ ladies I have seen is with Idea.
They have no ’’!dea’’ abt how to treat a customer or talk to him, they are mostly women who come from the north and do their bcom or mba’s and have rich dads to feed on, and work for a free mobile connection, so they hardly care abt caring for a customer.
And the token system they have in place in their centres are the most pathaetic thing I have seen because the girls already know what we have come for .. and are not willing to help. I shifted to pune again after a year in mumbai... and was looking for a service, I was planning to get idea because of the coverage, but just looking at those bad customer service reps, I dreaded the fact of going to their office for sundry issues like bill payments, etc and so I decided to go for Airtel.
