Going for an idea connection??? Trust me, its a really bad idea. I read some reviews where people say that it has good coverage in their cities. But in Delhi, Idea has the worst coverage of all cellular services. While you are on the move, there are certain fixed patches on the road where I get disconnected from the call everytime I pass from there. SOund quality...worse than the worst!!! I tried switching handsets, but no help!!! even after trying 3 diff handsets. Had all sorts of problems, be it network, services or billing. they charge you for calls that werent supposed to be charged (i am using friends and family feature)and then they tell u to pay for it, so that adjustment can be done in next bill. so its their fault in the bill and they tell me to pay the full amt so that they can deduct in the future. I have already paid them enough that I have got 2 bills with a negative amount; the service sucks!!!! on customer service, every person to whom u talk gives u crap, everybdy tells a diff story, or they simply put u on hold never to return!!! -> idea cellualar has the worst coverage -> they have no good offers or services- )discontinued alrdy existing friends and family feature ) -> they cheat in the bills (trust me, these are illegal trade practices) -> the customer service is a whole bunch of liars (who’d promise everything and do nothing at all) please please dont go for idea cellular- atleast not for a postpaid connection!!!
AND THATS NOT THE END OF IT..NOW AFTER A MONTH OF WRITING THIS OPINION, I AM ADDING MORE TO IT: my tryst with idea didnt end there, now I got my address changed by calling the cust svc ph number and it was done they said. Now when the billing time came, all of a sudden all services frm my phone were taken off- no incoming calls, frget abt outgoing calls. I called them up again and was told: sir- services to ur numberare on hold as you need to submit an address proof for the same. ’’ I asked how come nobdy told that I need to submit a proof for this when I got the address changed, and now without any notice u disconn my services to get address verified- gr8!!! anyway, I submitted a copy of the new address proof to a franchisee outlet the same day and was told that itd be wrking in 30mins. but it was 9days and 5visits to the franchisee, endless calls to cust svc and nothing wrked. talked to them patiently, talked angrily, but they were always shameless people. finally I switched over to a diff service provider and when I called idea up to end my connection with them, they said they dont wanna lose a customer and activated my ph in just 5mins over the ph- isnt that just ’’kaam chori’’? anyways I just told them to end it!! refund the ’’extra money’’ that I had alrdy paid them in advance for thier billing faults. And when I took the connection 4months back I paid rs1500 with the assurance that I will be refunded that amt by rs150 each -in each bill fr the next 10months. but now they still owe me 900bucks which they refuse to refund saying that it for activation and u wont get it back. I plan to drag them to the court not for my 900 bucks, but for such cheating and fraudulent practices. I wish nobdy else ever goes thru this traumatising IDEA
