Planning to change any new operator? Never take!dea from my own experience I am commenting this.
- Coverage.
They have no proper tower installed, even in major cities like Chennai, Bangalore. Very poor coverage. Even 1 year completion in Chennai, not a much difference. Hope mobile will forget that it has capable to show all bars at tower display region.
However, it can be used as very good office mobile(make sure you have another good operator for personal use). Once you step out of Chennai and until you come back u will not get signal to contact. Ur mobile can be used to hear songs, capture photos only. Dam sure when u r travelling in flight no need to change to flight mode.
- Connectivity.
Even for valid mobile numbers, just you will get a response "Invalid Number". When u contact customer care, "Our side is fine the issue is with other operator, once they fix your problem will be resolved". Better, they can add an automated voice for this, because customer care calling is charged.
They are many offers, which speak of Idea to Idea with fewer amounts. They indirectly mean u can speak only within idea customers.
Ultimate is, you will not be able to contact any other customer care apart from Idea. The generic reason is "They don’t have tie up with other providers". I have raised the concern and have an email reply stating this. Out my personal experience, I have tried calling other customer care numbers displayed in their respective websites, like Airtel Broadband, Tata Photon Plus, and Any Travel Agencies.
Comedy factor, calling a toll free number(Local, national & international) u must be a post-paid customer. Don’t know what makes them to go into loss while calling toll free number and to provide these features to prepaid customers.
- Torture
Minimum you will get 50 to 60 SMS stating all stupid offers. Be sure your mobile phone has a good storage, otherwise maintaining the inbox will become a regular routine.
Calls, frequently minimum 10 calls. They have a good strategy in that, if u have good balance, the calls will be of hifi like subscriptions to that service would cost Rs 30/40/50, On minimum balance u will receive calls stating subscriptions like Rs7/min(per MIN). But calls won’t stop.
- Services
Missed Call Alert - Alternative days amount will be deducted, but never(already I have stated, you won’t get tower) a single remainder about missed call will be alerted. The only alert will be given if Idea offer call is missed.
SMS - Frequently u have to refresh the message center number also switch off and switch on I u want to receive SMS.
- Customer Care
For complaints u have a different number which is of free and for general enquiries u have a number which is charged.
Any action complained first SMS confirmation will be sent stating your problem will be resolved in 24 hrs. At the end of duration 22 hrs again a SMS will be sent stating problem will be resolved in 19 hrs. This will keep on increase but your problem will remain the same.
Example:
If u add Rs17 rate cutter then calls will be charged .30p/min for local mobiles. At end of call say 3 mins u have talked then instead of .90p they will deduct Rs1.20. Always a .30p will be extra. If u contact customer care, the reply would be "sir from our system it is showing that u have talked extra time". The problem is clear that their system is mal functioning, but still they won’t accept to correct it. Instead they will blame that our mobile phone timing has problem

Idea to select this operator, will be changed on usage of!dea to change another provider.
I am still owing it because for me this is a secondary mobile(taken for primary use but due to above factors stated, this remains as secondary mobile) and waiting eagerly to update this review in forth coming days:-) so that no other victim is generated to post a review on this site again.
