Idea's Ideas

Have any one of you taken Idea connections? If you have well read this and decide to keep or throw away and if you haven’t please think at least a 100 times before buying.


I am an idea customer since the launch of this company. At the very beginning Idea was good make that excellent. But later on when their customers started increasing their service quality started dropping. Every time I called the customer care on 4444 either the line was busy or their was a long queue waiting for their turn.


Well getting to the actual problems:-


Date 31/05/2006


I got a call from Customer Care Center saying that I was chosen for Life Time Plan of Rs.251 and the person told me various tempting feature and that call rates would go down to nil. I accepted the plan seeing it as a golden opportunity. The person on the other side told me this pack would get activated in 24 hrs. I waited and waited till 06/06/2006 and.

I called up Customer care center and asked them why was my pack not activated as yet? After confirming about which pack I was talking about I get a reply that there won’t be a life time deduction but a monthly deduction of Rs.250/-. On hearing this I wanted to deactivate the pack from my number. But this could not be some from the Customer Care Center(4444) so I had to go to Idea center and tell them. I also gave a written complaint so that no deductions be made later. Mr. Chetan Shinde Manager there took my complaint and said to relax


Date 04/07/2006


All of a sudden today i.e. after 30-35 days my life time pack got activated and again I had to do the same things - Call 4444 - they tell me they can do nothing - run down to Idea center - wait in the queue to take number to give my complaint - then wait for my turn to come(this always took at least an hour) - then the complaint was taken care of. the money refunded after 48hrs. [And these people do expect u to be patient and calm after all the pain u go through just to give a complaint]

Again Idea had activated the LIFE TIME PLAN. What do they think they can cut my money any time just because I am a pre-paid customer?


So again I had to go through the hectic trouble to make my complaint visible!


Well after putting the same pack trice on my phone I think they finally came to know that they cannot eat my money.


The aim of writing this review so late is not just that I remembered it but because Idea has never stopped making mistakes.(Who said people learn from mistakes?) Well the chain continued I cannot write everything because there is a limit provided.


In detail -

  1. Never call 4444 directly go to Idea Center

  2. If u do call because u don’t have time to waste on these stupid things - do not expect that your complaint will be taken care of.

  3. Do not take any packs thinking they may facilitate your life.

  4. Never believe one customer care executive ask 4 to 5 people before you take any decision

  5. DO NOT pick up Idea’s promotional calls

  6. IF POSSIBLE NEVER BUY IDEA PRODUCTS!
