I have my connection with Idea Delhi since a few years now!
Before I tell you about my experiences, let me tell you some facts!
The Customer care at Idea Delhi is the worst you wouldve seen or heard! Theyre never reachable, you need atleast a good shift of 8hours to make a contact, & when you finally get through, the rep cant help you! (im sure a lot of you reading this & have experienced it would agree)! My wife uses an MTNL Dolphin connection, & thats miles better!
Now the factual reasons behind it. I train people for call centers & BPOs & a lot of my students have worked with them. so the inside fact is that they dont have much experienced employees. Theyve started with this concept of hiring only stipend based TRAINEES, who cost less & work more!! Even their customer care centers IT staff that manages the call flow is TRAINEES! What else can you expect friends!
Now My Experiences:
I got a cash-card in 2002 as they had cheap night rates on that then, & I was working nights. As long as that was there, it was fine! But when that scheme was over, I was stuck to the number as it was well distributed. So I converted to a post paid. Thats where the trouble started!
I paid Rs 500 to the representative who came to my office to do the needful in return of just a new sim card & no recipt (as that is what their policy is... They do not acknowledge recipts of such cash payments!) Anyway, he said that itd be active by midnight. ...& it never did for 9 days! calls worth atleast Rs.1000 to the customer care, visits spending at least another1000 to the frachise showroom.. But nothing but fake promises! Ultimately I landed up at their H.O. with a huge three page complaint, & decided to sit there till my services were restored! Finally after spending three hours it happened.
Since then, Im a regular guest at the H.O. ! Since day one I told them to mark my billing date in the begining of the month which theyve done in the third week of the month & the due date is one week. So every month they block my outgoing, I go to the H.O. Give them a PDC of the 1st week of the next month along with a fresh aplication for the change of billing cycle(which I know goes in the bin) & they open my calls!
There are so many instances that Id want to write here. Will try & do that soon...
BUT FRIENDS... BEWARE! (In a nutshell) THERE ARE A LOT OF BAD INDUSTRY PRACTICES THEY FOLLOW (like the ones mentioned by another friend on this site), & NO HEARING FROM ANY END!!! SO DONT TRY TO COMMIT A SUICIDE BY GOING FOR IDEA!!! DONT! DONT!! DONT!!! YOUll CRY!!!
Luckily now Hutch has started this scheme of choosing your number, & I plan to take the nearest possible number to this Idea number in their new series. Till then Im stuck to this one!
